Archetypes are formations in the collective consciousness that exist everywhere and we embody them without even knowing it. They are the Olympian gods, Titans, devas, asuras, danavas, on Tarot cards, in Egyptian hieroglyphics, on currency notes. Hidden from plain sight. Not passive, but sending out ripples in the consciousness field. They are in the subconscient and the circum-conscient, fluidly moving, in the waking and dream states, accessible when summoned, interpenetrating our consciousness. Much of human behaviour is driven by the archetypes, humans give a temporary habitation to.
These larger-than-life patterns are beings, journeys and structures. The fairy is an archetype, the hero’s Journey is an archetype, the tower is an archetype. These personalities, movements and structures are energies available for us to work with for our inner progress, and in the collective sphere too. The Mother worked with some, created some others and used them for the evolution of planetary consciousness. Sri Aurobindo’s writings are full of symbols that indicate the presence of active archetypes behind them.
Sometimes archetypes use us; sometimes we use them. This workshop will help us understand these various formations and enable us to use them to our advantage. It will be a rich workshop of images and energies. Since it will be spaced out, we shall have the opportunity to work on these archetypes within ourselves and share their magic during the sessions.
