Greetings for this special month of August!

 

As we celebrate the birthday of Sri Aurobindo, the Avatar who is guiding the onward march of Earth-consciousness to its inevitable destiny, we offer at His Lotus Feet Volume 2 of The Best of Sri Aurobindo Circle, our bi-annual periodical which brings for readers in a novel way gems selected from the vast archives of Sri Aurobindo Circle.

The evolutionary crisis faced by humanity today expresses itself at all levels, individual, communal, national and global. It can be adequately addressed only by going beyond the mental consciousness which necessitates an inward and upward movement. Sri Aurobindo's cosmic and comprehensive seer-vision points the way to a new creation

This new creation would necessitate a new world culture which must base itself on Spirit as the centre and build its forms the way a spiritual culture would do. The latest issue of The Best of Sri Aurobindo Circle, curated by BhāratShakti, Sri Aurobindo Society explores a fundamental question in this regard - will the new creation be preceded by a destruction of the old?

A HOMAGE TO INDIAN REVOLUTIONARIES

The highlight of the event will be a special lecture delivered by Shri Sanjeev Sanyal, Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India and bestselling author of ‘Revolutionaries: The Other Story of How India Won Its Freedom’. He will bring to light the immense role played by revolutionaries of many hues in India’s long struggle for freedom from the British colonial rule. 

Shri Sanjeev Sanyal, along with other dignitaries will also inaugurate a painting exhibition on Portraits of Indian Revolutionaries. These portraits are done by Ms. Bhajan Plahe, an Australia-based artist.

 

Inspired by the Mother and continuing her training in Classical Realism under Maestro Michael John Angel, founder of the Angel Academy of Art, Florence, Bhajan Plahe has painted 15 portraits of Indian Revolutionaries in the style of the Old Masters. Her work is influenced by Sri Aurobindo, the Yogi-revolutionary and the spirit of Bharat’s freedom movement. The exhibition on Indian Revolutionaries will be on display till August 12, 2026.

Join us on August 10 at 10:00 AM at Sri Aurobindo Society as we pay our humble tribute to the Revolutionaries of Bharat whose immense sacrifices for the freedom of our motherland have generally remained unknown to students of Indian history.
