James Anderson met life-threatening illness when 21, before working at the Lloyd’s Market in London for 16 years and later as a director. A sudden calling changed his life and he came to India. He has remained in Pondicherry since 2000. A writer, healer and teacher, he is Coordinating Editor of NAMAH, the Journal of Integral Health. He has published, A Torch in the Dark, a book that examines human growth in an integral and experiential way.
From Sacrifice to Surrender in the Light of the Mother

“Do not belong to the past dawns but to the noons of the future” – Sri Aurobindo  

 

Each one of us holds his or her own interpretation of the word, ‘Sacrifice’. The definition has many variants and what is evoked in us depends on the blossoming of our individuality and is a marker to our own unique personal evolution. What does the word evoke in you? Theory is all well and good, but is it not possible to deeply experience this concept to somehow deepen our understanding of it? In a sense, the passage from Sacrifice to Surrender is mirrored by the transition from Tapasya to Surrender. It is all a passage of growth and everything must be integrally embraced and experienced. 


Join these sessions and at least acquire the beginning of a knowledge of the reality behind this word and experience and catch a glimpse of the truth with the culmination of the entire process in the crowning of surrender. Our orientation must always be the consciousness of the Divine Mother: it is to Her that we sacrifice and surrender.
