The Sanskrit word "mudra" translates to "gesture," "seal," or "mark". By creating specific hand shapes, mudras stimulate energy circuits, aligning the five elements (fire, air, space, earth and water) that correspond to the fingers to achieve balance and healing within the body to promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Sri Aurobindo describes the Divine Mother's Four Great Powers (Mahashaktis) in his work The Mother as Maheshwari (Wisdom), Mahakali (Force/Strength), Mahalakshmi (Harmony/Beauty), and Mahasaraswati (Perfection/Work). These aspects embody different facets of the Mother's cosmic action, manifesting qualities like calm wideness and wisdom, splendid strength, captivating beauty, and intimate, flawless knowledge and work.
During the research and practice it is observed that the subtle practices from the ancient yogic science of Mudra can help us open towards these four forces and overcome the limitations of the lower nature.
In these 3 days, we will be practising different mudras along with the deeper body work practice, to offer our long-held old self and take up a conscious voyage towards being a more and more perfect instrument on the path of Self Perfection.
