Dr. Soumitra Basu. a consultant psychiatrist based in Kolkata and Pondicherry, who works with Consciousness paradigms in health and psychology. He conducts workshops on personal growth and is a Founder-Editor of NAMAH. He is author of Integral Health and has developed a module of Consciousness-based Psychology with Michael Miovic (USA), both co-authoring a book with that name, based on the wisdom of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

Consciousness-Based Counselling (Integral Psychotherapy), a year-long, vocational and certificate course, organised by NAMAH, the Journal of Integral Health, with Dr. Soumitra Basu on 6th & 20th July, 3rd & 17th August, 7th & 21st September, 5th & 19th October, 2nd & 16th November, 7th & 21st December 2025, 4th & 18th January, 1st & 15th February, 1st & 15th March, 5th & 19th April, 3rd & 17th May, 7th & 21st June, 5th July 2026 at 4.30-6.00 pm IST (1st & 3rd Sundays)

 

Sri Aurobindo has provided an exhaustive map denoting the structure of the being. We shall use this structural map to explain the origins of the disharmonies of the consciousness that lead to psychopathology. At each level of consciousness, the corresponding remedial measures will be discussed. The contribution and remedial measures needed for the occult factors that cause psychopathology will also be considered. A true holistic approach in Consciousness-Based Counselling culminates in the integration of the different planes of consciousness around the psychic being.

Days 5 & 6. Problems and Remedies at the Physical Level.
Days 7 & 8. Problems and Remedies at the Vital level.
Days 9 & 10.  Problems and remedies at the Mental Level.
Days 11 & 12. Analysing Dreams and Visions.
Days 13 & 14. Probing the Subconscious. 
Days 15 & 16. Probing the Inconscience. 
Days 17 & 18. Understanding the Superconscious and its Workings.
Days 19 & 20. Tackling Occult, Disruptive Forces.
Days 21 & 22. Preparedness of the Counsellor.
Days 23, 24 & 25. Summarisation & Conclusion.
