Integral Yoga seeks transformation:
“Finally, the transformation effected by the sadhana cannot be complete unless it is a supramentalisation of the being. Psychicisation is not enough, it is only a beginning; spiritualisation and the descent of the higher consciousness is not enough, it is only a middle term; the ultimate achievement needs the action of the supramental Consciousness and Force
.”
So, after the flowering of the psychic being, there is another realisation in Integral Yoga that needs to be fully embraced. It is the process of Spiritualisation. Sri Aurobindo likened it to a “subjective transformation”. Although not the summit of Integral Yoga practice and with certain limitations when set against the total and full effulgence of Supramentalisation, it is an important stage in our spiritual evolution, rich with many sublime realisations and marked by a vast descent of the higher forces.
One realises the Divine in everything and everywhere, “the Self in all and all in the Self, the Universal Shakti doing all things; one can feel merged in the Cosmic Self or full of ecstatic bhakti or Ananda.”
These three sessions, conducted by Dr. Alok Pandey and Dr. Soumitra Basu, will examine the essence of the process of Spiritualisation in the light of Integral Yoga.
