Developing & Cultivating Samata

We often hear the words: remain equanimous, remain unmoved, one must be in Samata, true equanimity/equality. 

 

But words are words and our practical life is something different. We may think of being equanimous, but when we try to practise it, we see how challenging it is. Why? 

 

Why is there a big gulf between philosophising about it and living it? How to actually, practically, get to practising Samata, true equanimity/equality?

 

Let's work on awakening Samata within our gross being and go beyond talking about it.
